I learnt everything about acting on the sets, says Sonakshi Sinha

Mumbai: Sonakshi Sinha says much of her learning about acting happened on film sets unlike today's newcomers who enter the industry prepared in every aspect. Sonakshi, who made her debut in 2010 with Salman Khan's "Dabangg", says since she never wanted to be an actor, she gradually learnt things along the way in the industry.

"I never wanted to be an actor in the first place, I never went for workshops, acting or dancing classes. Everybody who is making their debut today are so well prepared. "They know how to face the camera, how to pose for photographers. I didn't know any of that. I was a fat kid, I lost weight and was put in a film. I learnt everything on set," Sonakshi told PTI.

The actor may have come along a long way but said the process of learning has still not stopped for her.

"The learning process still continues. Even today I make sure whoever I meet, work with, teaches me something. It may not be related to work but just something they said. Everybody teaches you something and I hope that process never stops," she added.

While the 31-year-old actor began her career with commercial potboilers like "Dabangg", "Rowdy Rathore", "R Rajkumar", Sonakshi gradually shifted to headlining films like "Akira", "Noor" among others.

This change in her film selection, Sonakshi said, was not "deliberate". "The decision to change the kind of films I was doing was not conscious. I never sat down and strategised what I am supposed to do. I was doing commercial potboilers in the beginning of my career and that gave me a wide reach as an actor."

Suddenly, films like 'Akira', 'Noor' started coming to her and she credits her experience of working in mainstream cinema for giving her the confidence to shoulder films with strong female roles.

The actor is currently gearing up for the release of "Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi", the sequel to 2015 romantic-comedy "Happy Bhag Jayegi." Sonakshi is happy that today there are meatier roles being written for women, across all genres.

"The trend has gotten stronger and I hope it continues because it gives people like me so many opportunities to showcase our range. I am loving it."

Comedy isn't a new territory for the actor who has previously featured in comedy films like "Son of Sardar" and "Welcome to New York" and Sonakshi feels comfortable working in this space.

"Every actor has something that they find easy or tough. For some comedy is difficult, I personally enjoy it so I like to do it. It seems to be a good fit for me because I happen to be a funny person in real life. While, doing emotional scenes on screen is difficult for me. I find that very challenging," she adds.

Also starring Jimmy Shergill and Diana Penty, "Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi" will release on August 24. Post "Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi", the actor will be seen in Karan Johar backed "Kalank"?a multi-starrer.

"I am feeling good, I am doing some good work. I feel a new vigour, recharged and raring to go. I feel like I approach every film as my first and I hope that never changes, because that's when I will know I am done," she said.

Physical appearance is an illusion: Sonakshi Sinha

Mumbai: Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who has been often body-shamed on social media, says there is so much more to a person than their looks and that physical appearance is just an illusion.

In a conversation with BIG FM, Sonakshi said: "There is so much more to a person than their looks. I am someone who has been on the other side and thus seen both sides of the coin. I have grown up as an over-weight teenager. It was not ever a problem for me. It didn't used to matter that how fat I am and how much kilos I need to shed which actually people were pointing out to me."

The "Dabangg" actress says her weight and looks was such a small thing in comparison to the skills she is blessed with.

"I used to focus on other things which I am good at. That way I never felt pressurized to get slim," she added.

Sonakshi, 31, says even after shedding enough weight and becoming an actor, she has made sure to project a healthy body image.

"And come across as a good impression for people especially girls who get easily influenced at a very young age. I understand this considering, that I too wished to look like these slim models which would appear on these fashion magazines in my younger days. Physical appearance is an illusion. It is unrealistic. That is it," she said.

On the work front, Sonakshi will next be seen in "Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi" and is also prepping for "Kalank".

Kapil Sharma made fun of me on his show, says Shatrughan Sinha

Mumbai: Senior actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha is known for his unique style. Many mimicry artists copy the veteran's style and showcase their talent on stage and TV shows. Sinha, during an interview, spoke about Kapil Sharma and other artists to express his take on mimicry.

Kapil had reportedly poked fun at Shatrughan Sinha on one of his TV shows, and the veteran's daughter had reprimanded him for the same.

According to a Masala.com report, Shatrughan takes mimicry sportingly as long as artists don't cross the line of decency.

"This happened with me when Kapil Sharma made fun of me on his show. My daughter Sonakshi even reprimanded him. The mimic should not forget that he is paying a homage to a man or a woman he or she admires. Limits of decency should not be crossed," Sinha said during the interview.

Its been a while Kapil Sharma has been out of action. He is reportedly taking a break. The latest photograph of Kapil had surfaced online. He was seen with his pet in the pic. He seems to have put on weight.

Unfortunately, Kapil had been in the middle of controversies since March last year.

Sunil Grover, who has enthralled viewers as Gutthi, Dr Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi, was once an integral part of Kapil's team. He quit The Kapil Sharma Show after the infamous mid-air brawl. Soon after Sunil's exit from the show, the TRP of TKSS got affected and that subsequently put Kapil under a lot of pressure. Since March last year, Kapil has made headlines for all wrong reasons.

Later after taking a break from The Kapil Sharma Show, Kapil flew to Bengaluru for treatment. He returned to focus on his home production - Firangi. The film which released on December 1, 2017, unfortunately, proved to be a dud at the Box Office. Within about three months, Kapil made a splash on the small screen once again with a brand new show titled Family Time With Kapil Sharma. The show which was aired on weekends since March 25 this year, garnered a mixed response.

The show went off air two weeks after it was launched.

New Delhi: After 2016 release 'Happy Bhag Jayegi' received a warm response from the audiences, the makers announced its sequel. Titled as 'Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi', the film has some new additions such as Sonakshi Sinha and Jassi Gill.

The trailer of Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi has been released and we must say it looks like one entertaining ride. There are plenty of one-liners and comic punches which will make you go LOL. Classic actor-writer Piyush Mishra and Jimmy Sheirgill's camaraderie is another highlight.
